Course aim

To prepare students for their future roles as professional engineering practitioners through a period of work experience in an engineering enterprise, with an agreed work plan and clear educational objectives.

Course content

Students are expected to undertake full-time engineering work in an engineering industry of at least 12 weeks’ duration (60 days, or equivalent if working less than full-time).

Under the guidance of an engineering practitioner, students will perform a range of engineering tasks and processes to acquire practical skills and demonstrate the application of engineering discipline knowledge. This may be in areas of engineering practice selected from analysis, design, simulation, construction, testing, evaluation, operation, maintenance and documentation of engineering devices, plant, equipment, artefacts or systems.

Completion of 63 units of a Bachelor of Engineering Degree. Students are encouraged to undertake the course EEET 3033 Professional Engineering Practice E as part of their preparation for this course.
