Surgical Pathology Project

Course aim

This course is designed to enable students to develop an appreciation of material that supports or is complementary to the performance of surgical pathology specimen preparation.

Course content

Surgical pathology specimen preparation including OHS&W, standard operating procedures, confidentiality, specimen recording and description, cut-up equipment, macro/microphotography, data storage and retrieval, blocks and cassettes, and professional organisations (domestic and international) representing pathology assistants.
