Course aim

To engage students as pre-service educators in inquiry based and social constructivist perspectives of learning in science including interactive approaches to teaching and thinking and working scientifically.

Course content

Students will develop inquiry based and social constructivist perspectives of learning as pre-service educators. Students will investigate current pedagogies including interactive approaches and the 5Es; thinking and working scientifically, and making links with thinking and working mathematically and educating for sustainably; planning, implementing, evaluating a unit of work in science that connects to the third professional experience; key concepts embedded in the biological, chemical, physical and earth and/or space sciences.
