To provide the students with an understanding of the issues involved, resources required for creating an online presence. To provide some practical grounding in web site planning, implementation and management via a development methodology.
Web information systems. Creating a web presence including; development tools, management tools, page design principles, site structuring and navigation, development using an ‘information architecture’ methodology. Business implications of having a web presence. Marketing and promotion of a web site. Measuring site performance. Issues for implementing electronic payment systems. Future trends of online technology.
