Course aim

Students can apply the skills and knowledge to make effective contributions to sustainable planning and administration of parks and protected areas, with particular focus on visitor services and community engagement.

Course content

Park planning (including site planning, carrying capacity, public participation, “climate proofing”); Visitor management (including systems for zoning, carrying capacity, education, visitor monitoring); Protected area administration (including strategies for financing and supporting park systems and individual parks, risk management, marketing, co-management, adaptive management)
