Course aim

To develop students’ proficiency in spoken and written French at a post-introductory level and further develop their intercultural competence and provide opportunities for critical reflection on key moments of contemporary French culture and society.

Course content

Students will build on the vocabulary related to a range of themes at a more developed level. Students will review grammatical concepts and structures, extension of knowledge, skills and strategies for effective spoken and written communication, analysis of texts from contemporary narrative; cultural representations drawn from a selection of contemporary French literature, art, music and cinema, key moments of contemporary French culture and society and their relevance to intercultural contexts.
