Course aim

To introduce students to the basic theoretical and practical concepts of physical, and general chemistry.

Course content

Stoichiometric calculations; quantities of reactants and products; classes of chemical reactions Thermochemistry. Atomic structure and periodicity, chemical bonding and molecular structure. Intermolecular forces, properties of solid, liquid and gaseous states; properties of solutions. Reaction kinetics, and equilibria. Introductory acid-base theory; colligative properties. Transition Elements.
