Course aim

To develop skills in the interpretation of available statistics of the socio-economic characteristics of populations and housing and apply population-based data to problem solving planning models.

Course content

Population forecasts to estimate future land use. Selection and interpretation of census and other data sources. Determination of spatial patterns of distribution and trends. Selected planning issues dependent on socio-economic data. Population forecasts, modelling population change. Application of census data.
