Introductory Research Methods

Course aim

To comprehend fundamental principles of psychological research methodologies and statistics, critically evaluate published work, and apply and communicate knowledge appropriately.

Course content

In this course students will develop their knowledge of basic research designs and the ethics of research, and will develop their skills in the critical evaluation and summary of published research. Students will also develop skills in the selection, computation and reporting of basic descriptive and inferential statistics. They will apply these skills in the preparation of an APA style research report.
